Comments:Franz Lachner, who was born in the town of Rain in Bavaria on 2nd April 1803, was a great friend of Schubert, whom he went on to outlive by over 60 years. His works include 8 fine symphonies, operas and a number of chamber works. Two of his younger brothers were also composers.
