| Comments: | This file tries to capture some of the wonderful orchestration Puccini uses in his operas. I've always been very fond of Tosca and, in particular of the dawn atmosphere at the beginning of the 3rd act, with its background of church bells. In my selection includes these first moments, the aria "E lucevan le stelle" and the opera final with Cavaradossi's execution and Tosca's suicide. This is a pure orchestral selection. No attempt has been made to include singer's or choir's voices. And it is a file intended to be heard, not to be printed. |
