| Comments: | This music is intended for a small choir probably in a smaller church. Donald L. Root was born in San Diego, CA and was raised in Corona, CA. During his years at Corrona High School he played French horn and for two years was a member of the All Caliornia High School Symphony Orchestra. He was also active in choral groups at the school. He graduated from Califorrnia State University at Fresno with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a major in music. He studied French horn with Dr. James Winter. voice Mr. Vern DeLaney, composition with Dr. Arthur Bryan and form and analysis with Dr. Patee Evenson. Mr. Root obtained his Master of Arts degree from Trinity University in San Antonio,TX where he studied composition with Dr. Norman Lockwood and Dr. Otto Wick. Mr. Root has 35 years experience teaching instrumental and choral music and 30 years experience in directing church choirs including time directing the Pre Flight School USAF Drum and Bugle Corps and the Cadet Choir at Lackland AFB, Texas. |
