Comments:This is an old spiritual and it is in three parts based on three questions posed by verses of the hymn.
The first part is a simple statement asking, "Were you there when they crucified my Lord?"
The second a sorrowful (minor) rendition of "Were you there when they layed Him in the tomb?"
The last a joyful celebration of "Were you there when He rose up from the grave?"
