| Comments: | A verbunk from Ferenc Zsakai. This type of traditional-like music was very popular in Hungary mainly in the from the second half of the XVIII. th century and in the XIX th too. There were many excellent violinist, who played in this style, sometimes their own written pieces, sometimes others with in their own style. The style compresses every feature which was known about "Hungarian" type music. The style later went back into tradition, because peasant musicians tried to follow the style; so in the XIXth century we already had traditional village music too with very similar style to these verbunk pieces. |
