| Comments: | Schubert was born in Vienna, Austria on January 31st 1797. He wrote some six hundred Lieder, seven completed symphonies, the famous "Unfinished Symphony", liturgical music, operas, and a large body of chamber and solo piano music. He is particularly noted for his genius for original melodic and harmonic writing. Interest in his works increased dramatically following his death on November 19, 1828.
