Grieg

Norwegian composer who developed a strongly nationalistic style. He founded (1867) the Norwegian Academy of Music. His best-known works are the Concerto in A Minor for piano and orchestra (1868); the Cantata Olav Trygvason (1873); the Suite of incidental dramatic music, Peer Gynt (1876); and settings of Norwegian Folk Songs.
