Old cornish dance tune called 'Wedding March' in old MS books. Dunstan said he'd frequently heard it played at school treats. Morton Nance used the tune when he wrote the words to the song Tom Bawcock's Eve - hence its more recent title. The story goes that the brave young hero rowed out to sea in rough storm, caught seven sorts of fish and so saved the folk of Mousehole from going hungry.

Often now played in key of G. Dotted rhythms are commonly evened
out. The tune has evolved with several slight variations over the years, but the basic structure remains the same.
