1st String Quartet performed by real musicians
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahkAkD8SInE
<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahkAkD8SInE&t=33sgt &t=33s). The new piece
is in four movements comprising a conventional sonata form 1st (Allegro
Moderato), the 2nd a scherzo (Moderato) , which I would normally place as
third, but felt the high drama of the 1st needed some light relief. This is
followed by a lingering slow movement (Lento) which contains some
challenging double stopping for all four instruments and the piece completed
by a fast and furious (Allegro) finale.
