The song, which survives from the 17th century, is a unique example of heroic music. Though the lyrics aren't balladish (telling a story), they get their initial point from the loss of Estergon (Esztergom) to Austrians, in 1683, the year of the dramatical defeat in front of Vienna.
For actual intonation, the following pitch bendings should have been done - (Although they are ignored, the piece is still appropriate for playback.)
