Based on an ancient sextatonic scale named Gujuri-Todi, this composition leans heavily on my knowledge both in Indian classical music and in modern western classical composition.
The duet utilizes the timbres of the Indian sarod and the western fagott.
The sarod is my main instrument, which I have been studying for about four years. It is a ninteen strings plucked instrument. It is considered equal in importance to the sitar, and has a very natural ability for long glissandi, and thus all legato in the part of the sarod are actually smooth delicate glissandi.
