This is one of those embarrassing composer moments- My friend Semih Caglar[see his info elsewhere on this site] asked for some guidance because he was so moved by the incidences at the school in Beslan. I have given him a little [very little I'm afraid] advice and then once I thought about it some more began to compose this piece. So who gets credit? Ideas are in the air- but the original idea was his- and in a way I 'stole' it- so he should get some of the credit for this. After I had finished it- I also realized it owed something to Lutoslawski; Concerto for Orchestra. Complicated isn't it?
