For 8 years I led an ensemble of instruments mostly of my invention, open plucked strings, various xylophones, tuned in a just intonation of my own devising. This piece is one of the later pieces and it works pretty well in midi so you can get an idea of the sound(s).
The ensemble was made up of primarily non-musicians who could not read traditional notation, so I generally tuned all the strings for them and the scores/parts were in numerical notation similar to Gamelan notation for Westerners.
